Being able to express yourself, connect with people, and make money. If there’s one job that everyone from young students to working professionals dreams of these days, it’s being a creator, and that’s why Chae Rim (real name Kim Chae Rim), who has tens of thousands of followers, is an inspiration to many. With 580,000 followers on TikTok, 150,000 subscribers on YouTube, and 60,000 followers on Instagram, we asked her about the joys and sorrows of being a creator. And the money part, which everyone wants to know. – What inspired you to name your channel “Like Chae Rim”?<\/strong>“I think 90% of creators name their channels without giving it much thought, and I have a mantra of ‘treat your life like a journey, and your journey like a life,’ which is why the phrase ‘Life is like Chae Rim!’ has become a toast among my friends, so it was natural to name my channel ‘Like Chae Rim.<\/p>\n\n

– How did you become a TikTok and YouTube creator<\/strong><\/strong>?“I didn’t always want to be a creator, I just started after school because I saw my friend’s TikTok followers skyrocket and I was intrigued. I got into TikTok in the early days and got 4,000 followers in a week, and within a year I had half a million followers. I decided to pursue creativity as a full-time career, and thanks to a good agency in the early days of TikTok, I met some great creator colleagues and had a lot of positive influences, which is why I’m still doing so well today.” <\/p>\n\n

– I think it’ s important to have a good<\/strong><\/strong> relationship with your label.“I think there’s actually only about 5% of all labels that do things responsibly, and it’s only when the relationship between creators and labels is not commercial or mechanical, but is driven by the quality of the content and passion for the channel, that it can grow. My current agency helps me a lot with motivation, mental management, and content planning.”– Can I get help with content planning?<\/strong><\/strong>“I publish over 100 pieces of content a year, some of my friends produce 3 a day, and it’s inevitable that you’ll run out of people and content. It’s mentally destabilizing and you lose yourself between what you want and what people want. Then the agency is the center of gravity, and they help us find solutions in terms of creative, and most importantly, they help us match advertisers, and they cut the ads that don’t fit the unit price, and they cut the ads that are mutually beneficial.” <\/p>\n\n
