The Minish Academy for Japanese dentists will be held at Minish Dental Hospital from April 17 to 19 for three days.
The 12th edition of the academy is the second global academy to be held, following the graduation of 17 Japanese graduates last November.
Applications were open to Tokyo seminar attendees in February of this year, and interest was so high that the program closed within five minutes of opening. Requests for participation continued after the deadline, and the program was eventually expanded to 27 participants. The original four-day curriculum was restructured into three days of intensive theory and hands-on training.
The lineup of participants is also eye-catching. Some of the most influential figures in Japanese dentistry, such as Dr. Naoki Takeda, chairman of the 16-dentist Fenest Medical Corporation, Dr. Yoshishige Taniguchi (Taniguchi Dental), director of the Japan Dental Anti-Aging Association, and Dr. Eichiro Asano (Date Dental Clinic), former president of the Japanese Society of Impression Dentistry and Prosthodontics, are participating. The academy also features the father-son team of Dr. Noburu Murakawa and Dr. Ai Murakawa (Murakawa Dental), which adds to the significance of the academy.
Graduates are expected to be a major driver for the expansion of the Minish Members Clinic (MMC) in Japan. Considering that all of last November’s graduates signed up for MMCs, we expect more than 10 new MMCs to join this time around. As of April, there are nine MMCs in Japan.
