On August 18, the internship program for dental students at Dankook University concluded with great success.
Externships are an educational process that allows dental students to observe hospital practices firsthand and experience a state-of-the-art, patient-centered practice environment.
In July, dental students from Chosun University and Pusan National University visited Minish Dental Hospital for a hands-on experience.
During the hospital tour, the students were exposed to digitally-enabled medical equipment and advanced systems, and saw the entire process of a Minish treatment to repair a damaged tooth up close by observing actual patient care.
“I was able to see how the Minish treatment, which I was interested in, is implemented in the real world,” said Minwoo Lee, a fourth-year student at Dankook University, “and I realized that the local medical scene is evolving in a modern way compared to university hospital treatment.”
“At a university hospital, it takes four visits to treat a single crown, but I was impressed by the efficient system at the Mini Dental Clinic, where all treatments are completed in one day,” says fourth-year student Ki Myung Son.
Minish Dental Hospital plans to continue to expand its collaboration with major dental schools in Korea.
