Minish 'Challenge and Innovate' DNA, backed by systems

Minish Technology Hyunjae Lee Head of Human Resources & Culture

[What do you do when you get to work?" Hyunjae Lee, Head of Talent Culture

"Hi:) Please talk to me about all your worries."
This is the internal messenger bio of Hyunjae Lee, head of the Talent Culture Team. It shows his determination to create an open culture where employees feel comfortable sharing their concerns.

"I started working in HR because I like meeting people," he said, "I want to build the foundation of Minish Technology's company culture and system, and contribute to the company's leap forward." We met this team leader who wants to inspire respect and encouragement from his colleagues and drive new challenges and growth at the company.

The Minish DNA of "challenge and innovation" will be supported through institutionalization, said Hyunjae Lee, head of the Minish Technology Talent and Culture Team.
Hyunjae's friendly smile makes you want to ask him anything.

Q. How did your relationship with human resources begin?
My major was law, but I wanted to be a flight attendant. When I was preparing for my flight attendant test, I met a lot of people and realized that I enjoyed interacting with people. I thought I wanted to have a service job that dealt with people, even if it wasn't necessarily a flight attendant. Then I joined my first company as a general manager and was in charge of human resources and investor relations. I've been working in human resources for 14 years now.

Q. What made you want to join
? The philosophy was refreshing. When the world is obsessed with pulling teeth and replanting them, I was intrigued by the idea of a company that is committed to making natural teeth last a lifetime. I also liked the fact that the company is only four years old. I wanted to try different things at a company that was just starting out, rather than somewhere where everything was already in place. I wanted to jump in at a time of upheaval when the company was getting organized and grow with it.

Q. What has been your recent focus?
We have a culture that values challenge and innovation. We focus on ensuring that our entrepreneurial spirit is reflected in our operations and policies. We recently conducted a survey on "Creating a good culture to work together," and we will continue to work to ensure that the diverse opinions of our employees are reflected in our systems.

Q. You are the first company in the industry to join the UNGC. Please explain your ESG management.
Most importantly, "Is the organization aligned with diversity, equity, and inclusion?" We plan our human resources work based on this. We will elaborate and upgrade our employment rules and set up a works council so that employees can voice their opinions on working conditions, benefits, health and safety, etc.

Q. What is the appeal of Human Resources at my company?
I believe that everything I try contributes to the growth of the company, and I'm creating a new system right now. A typical venture grows in the first three years with a great idea, and then the HR culture system drives growth. I think Minish Technology is at that inflection point, and once the HR culture system stabilizes, growth can be boosted. As an HR professional, it's exciting to experience a company's inflection point.

Q. When do you feel rewarded?
"It's rewarding to know that you've given it your all and that your coworkers are "wowed" by the results.
"I've never experienced anything like this before." I'd say it's more motivating than rewarding. I'd say it's more motivating than rewarding. I recently heard someone say "I've never experienced anything like this in my 15 years of socializing" after a coffee truck event and it still sticks with me. I took that to mean that there's still a lot more I can do, and I think that gives me the strength to keep going.

Think about how you can create a better organizational culture.

Q. I'm interviewing for a new position.
I sit in on interviews for all departments, and there's one question that never fails to come up: I ask candidates about their own successes, or if they don't have any, what they've done to make up for their failures. We need people who aren't afraid to try new things. Even if you're scared, it's important to have the drive to overcome it and move forward. Minish is an out-of-this-world concept, so we look for people who are willing to take on that challenge.

Q. A word to future colleagues.
We spend 23.7% of our time at work, which is a quarter of our lives, so I'd like to see a culture of mutual respect. We have different backgrounds, knowledge, and experiences, so we may have different ideas. I want to work with people who can say, "What if we try this? Let's build it together," rather than "Isn't this the way it should be?" "You're my colleague!"
