Development of a Standard Glossary for Dental Hospitals
Includes Management Indicators and Dental Terminology

Minish Dental Hospital Standard Glossary.

Minish Dental Hospital has developed a new standardized glossary to reduce communication errors among staff and improve operational efficiency. The glossary contains a total of 156 terms, ranging from basic dental terminology used across all hospital operations to management and revenue metrics.

The creation of the glossary was initiated to address operational disruptions caused by the same terms being interpreted differently depending on the department or the person in charge. In fact, even with regard to sales metrics alone, similar terms such as “confirmed amount,” “confirmed amount from new customers,” “confirmed amount from consultations,” and “confirmed average transaction value” were used inconsistently, frequently leading to misunderstandings during reporting and collaboration.

The glossary standardizes definitions for everything from basic dental terms—such as “CC (primary reason for visit),” which new employees at Minish Group encounter for the first time—to practical management metrics like sales performance, customer databases, and call management. This has laid the groundwork for all department members to understand and communicate about data using the same standards.

Kim Su-jeong, Managing Director of Minish Dental Hospital, said, “We expect this glossary of standard terms to significantly reduce communication errors that have arisen during interdepartmental reporting and collaboration.”
