PerspectiveDesigner Yonghoo Park "Minish needs futuremarking rather than benchmarking"
Learn to ask what if questions that led to Kakao's differentiated services
Park Yong-Hoo, Korea's No. 1 perspective designer and author of the best-selling book "Design Your Perspective," gave a lecture on the 13th floor of Minish Dental Hospital on the 24th.
Mr. Park has been involved in promoting and advising unicorn companies with a market capitalization of over KRW 1 trillion, including Kakao and Delivery.io, and has experience in turning these brands into national apps.
Mr. Park began his talk by emphasizing the power of desperation. After losing everything in a business failure in 2009, he said he was determined to get back on his feet.
"Out of desperation comes extraordinary abilities in the ordinary," he said, and "failure is not falling down, but giving up on getting up." He also emphasized the spirit of challenge, or the "dare to try" mentality.
He also talked about the skills needed for workers in the AI era. "The definition of work is shifting from 'do it yourself' to 'describe, modify, and decide' through prompted engineering," he said, "The ability to command language and create results is critical."
He emphasized the power of questions. "Questions determine the level of thinking," he said, "and it's important to ask the right questions because you can't get the right answer from the wrong question."
Quoting Amazon's hiring philosophy, "People who are not curious don't grow," he enjoined an attitude of constant questioning and learning in everyday life. Just as the end of love is "when the questions are gone," he warned that personal growth stops when questions stop being asked in one's work.

He introduced the "what if" question as a methodology for innovation. Asking "What if?" is the beginning of innovation, he said. He explained that this is how differentiated services such as Kakao Bank and Kakao Taxi were created.
"We need to go beyond simple benchmarking to 'future marking,' which is imagining what is not commonplace today but will be in the future," he said. This, he says, is how Minish became a No. 1 brand.
"My goal is to help build a company that you can be proud to be a part of," Park concluded, "and to help you actively 'perspective design' and take control of your life and future." He will continue to be a regular contributor to Minish Technology.
