“When we take aging for granted, we become passive, and that’s what makes us older and less healthy. Minish is a treatment that changes that mindset.”

Dr. Kim Tae-hoon, a veteran dentist, shared his experience with Minish, saying, “When you don’t see aging as a fate, but as something that can be reversed, it changes your attitude toward life,” emphasizing the importance of “reverse aging” beyond teeth.

The man behind this extraordinary transformation is his son, Dr. Kim Sung-ho, the director of Minish Veneers Dental Clinic. To say that the two are father and son dentists is an understatement. The father was a founding member of the Moa Dental Group and led the networking group for more than 30 years before merging with Minish Technology last year to chart a new future, while the son has been gaining clinical experience in the Minish ecosystem since before that.

Dr. Kim’s reasons for entrusting his son with his care were clear. “Skills are important, but what’s more important is what kind of philosophy a doctor has, and that’s something I’ve never worried about with my son.”

There is one philosophy he has emphasized to his son his entire life. Treat the person with the tooth, not the tooth on the person. “If you start with the heart of why the patient has been hesitant to seek treatment, you end up with ‘painless, minimally invasive’. ‘ The Minish Veneers treatment that my son is implementing is exactly that philosophy that I’ve been pursuing all my life.”

For Dr. Kim, the practice is special. “I dreamed of being a dentist when I was younger, watching my dad, and now that I’m lucky enough to be one, I feel like it’s a good fit for me and that it’s meaningful to bring happiness and empathy to others.”

Knowing Minish’s impact on his life, he felt responsible for every moment of the procedure, but he was facing his father, a 30-year veteran of the practice. “As a junior doctor, I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t nervous, especially since he’s been emphasizing ‘painless care’ his whole life, so I felt like a student taking an exam when I was doing anesthesia. haha.”

The treatment centered on reinforcing the enamel that had thinned with age. Rather than shaving off more of the worn and chipped areas, we reinforced the original thickness and adjusted the length of the upper teeth, which had become less visible when smiling as the teeth wore down, to create a natural-looking smile.

“The most nerve-wracking part of the process was the last minute of attaching the minisheets. They’re so precisely made and so thin that if you get it wrong, all the work you’ve done before goes to waste, so that’s when I was most focused.”

The mood in the doctor’s office was tense. Perhaps a typical father-son relationship. Instead of long conversations, jargon was exchanged and the father nodded his head. Dr. Kim gave his son a perfect score of 100 and gave him words of encouragement.

“You have to be constantly challenged and driven. You have to evolve existing treatments and open new avenues with new technologies like Minish. To see my son grow like that is the greatest gift to me, and to have him give me Minish is an even greater gift.”

“I’ve never given my father a proper gift, and I’m really proud that I was able to give him the gift of youth and health through the clinic,” said Dr. Kim Sung-ho.

“I hope you have healthy teeth, eat well, live a long life, and we can talk about dentistry and have fun and work together. I love you, Dad.”
